Long day today - about 425 miles from Elko to Hurricane, UT, near the entrance to Zion NP. Much of it at 80 mph! Started with a cut-off on Rt 226. We're too late for good fall foliage, but there are a few pretty trees to be found. Rest stop featured Pony Express display. Quick stop for crappy lunch at McD's in Ely; brief stop at Cathedral Gorge (always comes a surprise!).
Weather today was mostly cloudy, temp low 70s. But as we approached St. George and Hurricane, it cleared and got warm- 79! But then its always hot in St. George.
Arrived in Hurricane about 6:00 PM at our fleabag Travelodge. What do you want for $49.99?(Its fine!)
Dinner at JB's. Tomorrow we'll get an early start (Ha!) and into Zion NP.
